Sr. Field HR Partner, Mexico City

The HR Partner drives our mission by working with leaders across the business to ensure Tesla is a great place to work for all our employees. This position will support all employees in Mexico across several different departments.  Our team achieves results by being innovative, driven, collaborative and trustworthy.

 

This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management and ad hoc projects, as necessary. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic organization where anything is possible and much is still being built, brings order from chaos, creates the foundation for engagement, organizational stability, and employee growth/retention and ensures the organization complies with the country’s regulation, culture, and legal frame.

Lo que debe hacer
Be a credible advocate for your clients, your team and Tesla’s mission. Influence others to create positive change and proactively mitigate and resolve employee issues
Collaborate with Tesla internal groups and external partners supporting Learning & Development, Employee and Labor Relations, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to achieve organizational goals
Write and support policies and processes to keep the company compliant to laws and regulations
Partner closely with HR leaders across several departments to ensure alignment of priorities and an open sharing of information
Build systems to improve employee experience, career growth, and retention and collaborate with management to develop and implement lasting solutions
Build credibility and trust among employees. Resolve employee concerns through compassion, a systematic approach, clear documentation and follow-through
Consult and advise on succession planning, talent reviews, recognition, and supporting the annual merit planning cycle
Provide thought leadership and training in areas such as complaint/escalation handling, conflict resolution, etc.
Oversee the correct operation, execution, filing of all processes, documentation and compliance with regulations
Act as point of contact with local HR related organizations such as ministry of labor, Social Security and coordination with all other programs required by local operations
Collaborate with the legal team for the proper documentation and execution of HR process that comply with local regulation
Work with the employee relations team to investigate internal complaints and recommend appropriate courses of action
Manage employment contracts and terminations in accordance with legal requirements

Requisitos:

At least 4 years’ experience in a HR Business Partner or Generalist role with experience including compliance, policy drafting, employee relations investigations, coaching, compensation, training and HR project management or program implementation
Proficient in Spanish and English, both written and spoken
Experience supporting US based companies preferred
Expert knowledge of local labor and employment law and HR best practices
Experience objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
Applied knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, as well as all applicable labor, human rights, and health and safety legislation.  Thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
Advanced knowledge of social security obligations, employee leave entitlements, responding to disability accommodation requests, employment contracts, working hours, and termination procedures
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams with a high level of professionalism, and integrity
Proven planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks
Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English is required 
Travel may be required up to 50% within Mexico and on occasion to the US therefore candidates must have a valid visa to enter the US
This position is based in an office environment and time will be spent in retail, service and warehouse locations
Comfortable working in a dynamic, and constantly changing environment
Labor experience is critical, but not required
Demonstrated knowledge of compensation and benefits administration
Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload and meet deadlines with ease
